In 1892, Milton Florsheim began producing shoes in a small factory located in Chicago, Illinois. The first pairs of Florsheim shoes made by Milton and his father, Sigmund, were a remarkable combination of style, comfort and high quality workmanship.

Around the turn of the century, the company began exploring other innovative methods of distributing and selling its shoes that would enhance the already established network. These included expanding wholesale distribution to metropolitan areas around the country, and the opening of a series of company-owned retail outlets. These outlets became the Company's Flagship stores that displayed and sold the entire Florsheim product line.

Gap Inc. opened the first three Old Navy stores in 1994, in the Northern California cities of Colma, San Leandro, and Pittsburg.

Old Navy's mission is to offer affordable, fashionable clothing and accessories for adults, kids, baby, and Moms-to-be.

Oldnavy.com is a good website designed for online shopping. The site is colored brightly, sharing the color scheme that you will see in the physical locations as well as the commercials that you see on TV. The site is nicely laid out with great search features and a good checkout system.

The OldNavy.com site's front page gives you access to a good search engine, tabs to go directly to categories, and miscellaneous things such as My Cart, sign in or sign up, and the Weekly Sale.

The last selection is one that most people do not know that Old Navy has. Their maternity selection is pretty nice, but it is only available online.

In finality it can be said the site is nicely laid out, and the shopping experience is good. Not as good as the physical locations, but you don't have to fix your hair and drive there, either!
